Waking up to a fresh 2-5" of snowfall across the area this morning! Beware though, the morning commute is icy and slippery. Reports of ice under the snow and also a layer on top have been reported. Many spins out and crashes have occured this morning. Drive slow, brake early and turn slow. The worst of the storm is past us as the snow winds down. Chances of a light wintry mix remain until 2pm. Then temperatures will soar to the mid and upper 30s with gusty winds, up to 40mph. This as another storm begins to target us.
Next round of snow arriving Tuesday after noon, bringing around 2-5" of widespread snow accumulations. This one also poses the risk of icing and a wintry mix too. This will disrupt Tuesday PM and Wednesday AM commutes.
Temperatures cool down behind that storm to close out the year, with highs in the low to mid 20s.
To ring in 2022, we are expecting a bigger storm to impact N.E. Wisco. As of now, the timing of it looks to arrive NYE and depart by New Years afternoon.
