Wrightstown girls win state semifinal, Mishicot falls in overtime

After a day of uncertainty at the WIAA girls state basketball tournament, one local team won its semifinal matchup.

ASHWAUBENON (WGBA) - A late run from the Wrightstown girls gave the Tigers a semifinal win at Thursday's WIAA girls basketball state tournament.

Sophomore Leah Lemke led the Tigers with 24 points as they knocked off Lake Mills 62-54, despite playing without their best player, Bridget Froehlke, who suffered a season-ending knee injury during practice earlier this week.

Mishicot made its first ever appearance at the state tournament, suffering a tough loss to Melrose-Mindoro in overtime, 57-55.
