The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team won't play competitively for a while, but they're already preparing for the upcoming season on their own time.

"Having to be in quarantine the past couple of months its really easy to get out of shape and stuff so we just take every advantage we can to get in shape and have a good season," Phoenix guard, Josh Jefferson said.

Senior point guard, PJ Pipes, is leading the unofficial workouts and his teammates were happy to join him.

"They were like we want to put the extra work in. Which you know me, I love that. If we all put in the extra work in now, it's only going to help us during the season," Pipes said.

Although they aren't able to hold official workouts in the gym, they understand the importance of staying ready for the season.

"It's very important because by time you get to the season, you don't want to be working on stuff you could've been doing. Working on conditioning and stuff you want to be at least in the best shape that you can be," Pipes said.
