Norway set a new record for most medals in a Winter Olympics with 39 overall (14 gold, 14 silver, 11 bronze.)
The United States finished fourth overall with 23 medals (nine gold, eight silver, six bronze). Team USA's most successful event was snowboarding where they won seven medals, four of them gold.
