GREEN BAY -- The late and beloved Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr will be celebrated this weekend.

The festivities kick off Friday night with the Green and Gold Gala. The Green Bay Packers give back will host the 31st annual event in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The event is the first in a series of events that will be held during Alumni Weekend to honor the life and legacy of Bart Starr. The gala begins at 5 p.m. Friday with more than 50 Green Bay Packers alumni attending. Proceeds will benefit Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin.

Honoring Starr will continue Saturday at Rawhide in New London. There will be a free Bart Starr commemorative celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a youth football camp for kids, face painting, bounce houses and food trucks. Registration for this event has closed.

The celebration of Starr's life will continue with Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, along with the annual Packers Alumni Weekend. A halftime program and ceremony to honor Starr is planned, and dozens of Packers alumni, including some of Starr's former teammates and players, will be in attendance. During the ceremony, Starr's wife, Cherry, and his son, Bart Starr, Jr., will be introduced on the field. Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy will say a few words, followed by a special tribute to Starr that will be played on the video board.
