LAMBEAU FIELD (NBC 26) — One of the traditions of Packers training camp is where kids loan their bikes to the players.

Dozens of kids lined up at Lambeau Field Wednesday morning waiting for a Packers player to take their bike for a spin to practice.

The ribbon-cutting at the DreamDrive wasn't for something new, but rather a welcome back gesture for the young Packers fans and the players.

"I'll tell you, it's just an awesome experience," Packers fan Tanner Chrisler said.

Aaron Jones, A.J. Dillon, Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, and Jordan Love are just a few of many players that rode the bikes from Lambeau Field to Ray Nitschke Field.

"They're like asking, well of course like my name, but they're saying like, what are you playing?," Chrisler said, who rode with safety Shawn Davis. "Football? You know, they're just being really nice."

COVID-19 shut down the DreamDrive bike rides for two years. But this time, it's back in full swing.

"We're really excited to have the kids back as part of this," Packers director of sales and business development Chad Watson said.

Watson says families from near and far are helping bring the players to practice.

"There's nowhere like Green Bay, Wisconsin, really anywhere in the United States, especially during training camp with our practices happening right across the street here," Watson said.

And how are the young fans describing the experience?

"Really cool," Beckham Peterson said, who rode with A.J. Dillon.

"Pretty good for my first time with somebody else," Evelyn Milliren said, who rode with Eric Stokes.

"From one to ten, I'd rank it probably a ten out of ten," Chrisler said.

Safe to say a fun time for the Packers kiddos.

The DreamDrive is a partnership between the Packers and American Family Insurance.

AmFam Chief Underwriting Officer Dan Kelly said during the event that AmFam is partnering with Packers' left tackle David Bakhtiari for the DreamDrive sweepstakes.

Kelly says the winner will receive a prize package including a bike ride with Bakhtiari to camp, a $1,000 gift card, VIP passes, lunch for four, and signed memorabilia.

The deadline to sign up is this upcoming Friday, July 29. More information can be found at amfam.com/packers.
