GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Green Bay Packers MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers has indicated to people close to him that he plans to play for Green Bay this season, according to a report from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

As previously reported, Green Bay's MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers already sat out the Packers' mandatory minicamp amid previous reports he doesn't want to play for Green Bay anymore.
This new report comes on the same day as the annual Packers shareholders meeting. According to NBC 26's Kelsey Dickeson, who is at the meeting, the Packers say they’ve been “working tirelessly with Aaron and his representatives to resolve the issues he raised…and remain hopeful for a positive resolution.”

According to ESPN senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the team is offering concessions to Rodgers, and is "close to an agreement that would bring Aaron Rodgers back to Green Bay for at least this season," citing sources.
Schefter says the new agreement "would help set up Aaron Rodgers’ departure from Green Bay after this season."
The ESPN insider continues that the 2023 year in Rodgers’ contract would be voided in the agreement, "with no tags allowed in the future," according to sources.
