HOUSTON (NBC 26) — Since January, there's one thing Rashan Gary can't stop thinking about.

"Last year, we didn't finish where we wanted to," the Packers third-year pass rusher said. "We went to the NFC Championship and fell short.

"So that's the only thing on my mind and I'm making sure that Rashan Gary is doing everything he can to bring the Green Bay Packers back to that and go to the Super Bowl this time."

Last year, Gary had five sacks in the regular season and starred in the playoff win over the Los Angeles Rams with 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hits.

He made a huge jump from his first NFL season to his second. Now, the former No. 12 overall pick is working to take the next step. He's spending the week working out with respected defensive line coach Brandon "B.T." Jordan alongside some of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.

"B.T. is the best in the business in terms of working with D-Linemen around the league," Gary said. "I'm on my way to becoming one of those (top) guys and that's my goal."

Jordan organized a "nose tackle retreat" in Houston. Gary and several other players - including Damon "Snacks" Harrison, who spent the final few games of last season with the Packers, and Vikings NT Michael Pierce - are taking part in the workout.

Gary said he is excited about learning from the older players at the summit.

"You get a guy who knows what he's talking about and also players that play good ball and are respected around the league," he said. "It makes a good player. If you just keep coming back and keep being consistent with it."

While the clinic was designed for interior linemen, Gary - who primarily lines up as an outside pass rusher - said he still felt it was important to attend.

"I feel like when it comes to pass rush and defensive line, it's a family," Gary said. "Everybody can learn from each other... Pass rush is pass rush."

The Packers will begin their offseason program on April 19. It is expected to start as a virtual program, with players attending Zoom meetings outside of the facility.
