Packers receive four compensatory picks

Posted

The Packers will receive four compensatory picks in the 2018 NFL Draft after losing G T.J. Lang, S Micah Hyde, DE Julius Peppers and TE Jared Cook in free agency last year.

Green Bay gains an additional fourth-round pick (133rd overall), two in the fifth round (Nos. 172 and 174) as well as a sixth-rounder (207).

The NFL determines these picks by taking into account the length and size of contracts players sign with their new teams, as well as playing time and league honors earned.

The Packers' new general manager, Brian Gutekunst, now has 12 selections in the upcoming draft to play with. Here's how the selections break down now with the compensatory picks:

  • First round: One pick
  • Second round: One pick
  • Third round: One pick
  • Fourth round: Two picks
  • Fifth round: Three picks
  • Sixth round: Two picks
  • Seventh round: Two picks

The 2018 NFL Draft will be held at AT&T Stadium April 26-28.
