GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) — Aaron Rodgers' dispute with the Packers has hit a standstill, but NBC Sports' top NFL reporter doesn't believe things will just "blow over."
Three-time national sportswriter of the year Peter King thinks Rodgers is too "dug in" and, if he had to guess now, believes Jordan Love will be the Packers starting quarterback this season.
"My guess is Jordan Love (will start), but I don't know. Who knows?" King said in an interview with NBC 26. "If they don't think Jordan Love is ready and they're not going have Aaron then they're going to have to bring somebody in.
"That's just a guess," he stressed. "But it just seems to me that Rodgers is a little bit too dug in for this just to blow over."
King recently interviewed Packers WR Davante Adams for his podcast. After speaking with Adams he thinks the issue with the front office extends beyond just Rodgers.
"(Davante) used the word respect with me," King said. "It's like I think he feels like this is not just an issue for Rodgers and the front office, that it's probably an issue for other players and the front office too.
"Building a bridge between the front office staff and the locker room... it's just my gut feeling that this is going to be important for more than Aaron Rodgers."
