ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Nathaniel Hackett brings charisma, energy and enthusiasm to the Denver Broncos, who have schlepped through five straight losing seasons.
Hackett is a first-time head coach at age 42 following 13 seasons as an assistant coach in the NFL and six years in the college ranks.
Hackett replaces Vic Fangio, who was fired after going 19-30 over three seasons, including 7-10 in 2021. Broncos fans are wondering if the hiring of the former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator will help the Broncos lure Aaron Rodgers to Denver.
GM George Paton says Rodgers had nothing to do with Hackett's hiring.
