Training camp is just that: Training.
Take it from second-year corner Kevin King, who said it best:
"That's really a time where you get to work on your craft. You're out there. You're with your team. It's like, 'I might try a brand-new thing today on Davante (Adams).' He's one of the top five, top three receivers in the league. It may not work, you know what I'm saying? But on film, it's like, 'Damn. Kevin King can not guard.' Like, you don't know what I was doing, so they see these clips but they don't tell the tale of anything. It's all about getting better."
So when Aaron Rodgers threw his seventh interception so far in training camp, his teammates weren't in a flurry of concern.
"He's like a perfectionist anyways, so whether it's picks or dropped balls or if he throws the ball high - and that rarely happens - you know, you can tell he's super hard on himself," said tight end Marcedes Lewis. "And I think we feed off that too."
In fact, Rodgers' three picks Monday might say more about Green Bay's defense than its quarterback.
"Tremendous confidence (builder)," inside linebacker Blake Martinez said. "I think we've talked about it since we got here, especially when Coach (Mike) Pettine walked in the door, that we need big, game-changing plays. And to have a play like that, especially at the end of the game or before even halftime, to make those plays, it gives you a lot of momentum."
Trainers' table: A storm of injuries hit Ray Nitschke Field Monday, with safety Kentrell Brice leaving on a cart and defensive tackle Mike Daniels being held out for most of practice. But worst of all was an apparent knee injury to linebacker Jake Ryan during team reps. After grimacing in obvious pain and trainers working on his right knee, Ryan also left practice on a cart.
"Anytime you have a great player like Jake and Brice, it's tough to see that," said outside linebacker Vince Biegel. "And speaking from a teammate standpoint, you just hate to see that, but that's sometimes just the game."
"I had chills the whole time it was happening," Martinez recalled. "And at that point, you've got to kind of refocus and pull things together because things happen, just like last year with Aaron Rodgers. Those things happen."
