KAUKAUNA (NBC 26) — Kaukauna wrestler, Tres Leon has been lacing up his gloves from a very young age.
"Started in the first grade and ever since then I kept going with it and I loved it so I just followed through it," Tres Leon said.
"He was pretty good in first grade, he won a quarter of his matches. We knew right away," his father, Bill Leon said.
Leon had an accomplished high school and collegiate career. He was even named athlete of the decade at his school, Cumberland University.
"Just proud of him he's a 3 time All-American. He was the freshman of the year--3 time conference champion," Bill said.
"That's pretty cool. There's some wrestlers in the area. Built from here, built in Kaukauna," Tres said.
Tres is using this summer to prepare for the next step in his career-- the MMA.
"I've been wrestling my whole life. I'm a competitor, so I'm pretty excited to follow through with my dream,"
