On Friday night, the top spot in the Fox River Classic conference was on the line for boys basketball.
De Pere hosted Ashwaubenon in a battle for first place. The Redbirds lost in Ashwaubenon earlier in the season.
The game was close in the first-half, but eventually De Pere pulled away in to win convincingly, 81-67.
De Pere junior John Kinzinger had a game-high 30 points, helping lead the Redbirds to victory. Sophomore forward Will Hornseth added in 16 points. In total, the team had four players in double-figures.
Jaguars senior Marcus Tomashek wasn't far behind Kinzinger, scoring a team-high 29 points.
With the win De Pere is now in sole possession of first and Ashwaubenon dropped to third place behind Notre Dame.
Next up, De Pere hosts Notre Dame on Tuesday night and will attempt to hold onto first. Notre Dame is only half a game back in the standings.
