This weekend, the state's top high school football players will hit the field for the annual WFCA All-Star Game. It pits Northern Wisconsin's best against Southern Wisconsin's best in three separate divisions: large, small, and eight-man.
The North large school team features 11 players from Northeast Wisconsin, representing Kaukauna, Kimberly, Appleton North, De Pere, Ashwaubenon, Notre Dame, and Shawano, one of the smallest schools in the large division.
The Hawks are represented by wide receiver Elliott Lowney and Coach Alan Tomow, the North team's head coach. He says he's honored to be nominated by fellow coaches.
Lowney will be playing college ball at Bemidji State. The large school all-star game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.
