DE PERE, Wis. (NBC 26) — The De Pere boys basketball team is heading into Christmas break on a high note.
The Redbirds are 6-0, ranked No. 1 in the state, and coming off their best win of the season after they beat No. 9 Kimberly 98-76 Tuesday night.
Junior guard Johnny Kinziger led the way with 35 points. His younger brother Zach, a freshman, added a career-high 15 rebounds.
Next week the Redbirds will play in the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout against more top-tier competition. On Tuesday they play Wisconsin Lutheran, the No. 2 team in Division 2. On Wednesday they will play Wauwautosa West, which just beat the No. 4 ranked team in Division 1.
