ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (NBC 26) — Notre Dame overcame a halftime deficit to beat Pewaukee 68-54 in the WIAA Division 2 state championship game on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Trista Fayta led the way with 27 points, including 4-8 from three point range.

"Since I knew I wasn't making the first couple I knew that I just had to keep shooting and keep shooting because one was going to fall," Fayta said after the game. "Once I started hitting one, I was getting hot and then our energy went high so that was really good."

The Tritons have now won back-to-back state championships. Moments after the game, head coach Sara Rohde was already thinking about a three-peat.

"That's the goal, right?" Rohde laughed. "What else are we trying to shoot for here?"

"We will probably have a meeting within a couple weeks here and set our team motto for next year and start preparing," Rohde said. "It's crazy to think but within a couple of weeks I'll be thinking about next year already and I'm sure that's what we'll be talking about."

Notre Dame will return five of its top six scorers, including leading scorers Gracie Grzesk and Fayta.
