NORTHEAST WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- Job opportunities are out there for people who have been furloughed or laid off, but it could take some hard work to land a new position.

That was the consensus from a trio of job experts at NBC 26's virtual jobs town hall on Wednesday night. Experts talked about where the opportunties are, how to find them, and what to do to prepare.

"We have some manufacturers who are hiring yet, and in some cases they're hiring in entry level positions," Bay Area Workforce Development Board executive director Jim Golembeski said. "So there are some opportunities there."

"Reach out to those people, find out who's hiring," Strategic Career Coache's Paula Christensen said. "Neighbors, a lot of people are at home right now and maybe welcoming a phone call that weren't able to do that a few months ago."

"Now is a great time if you're interested in making a career change," Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce president Becky Bartoszek said. "If you are going to be changing jobs, I recommend you get out there, get everything polished up, and find your next role. Now is really a key time to be doing that."
