OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- Job seekers across Northeast Wisconsin are welcomed to join drive-thru job fairs on Wednesday afternoon.

Local workforce development boards are organizing the events in Green Bay and Oshkosh.

“We think this is the time when a lot of job seekers might be kick-starting their search a little more in depth," Bobbi Miller with the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board said. “This event is in response to the pandemic.”

The pandemic will also change the format of a typical job fair. Job seekers will drive up in their cars and get a packet filled with information from local companies. The fair will have minimal contact and job seekers and employers will not meet together. Still, leaders of the job fair hope the fair will connect the two.

“They’ll go home with this packet of information," Miller said. “We just think it’s a great way to keep everyone safe but still promote the great jobs that are available in our area.”

Miller said there are many different types of jobs available.

The job fairs will run from noon to 4 p.m. The Oshkosh event will be at the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, and the Green Bay event will be at the Riverside Ballroom.
