NORTHEAST WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- From hand sanitizers to temperature scanners and partitions, the current needs for local manufacturers look quite a bit different than just a few months ago.

“It’s hard to find for manufacturers right now," Wisconsin Fastener Supply's Jacob Lindemann said. "The supply and demand shifted drastically. Anything COVID related is just flying off the shelves."

Lindemann said companies need to know who is producing and distributing these products and how people in the industry can find them.

Now, a new COVID-19 directory has helped manufacturers find those essential products during the coronavirus pandemic. The directory, created by the NEW Manufacturing Alliance, lists more than a dozen companies that are able to supply personal protective equipment and other business needs like temperature scanners.

“It’s a great service to help our members work together, collaborate, and really make everyone better," NEW Manufacturing Alliance executive director Ann Franz said.

Franz said the directory encourages companies to get their products locally, and it can open up new partnerships for those businesses.
