WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- At a time when many people are looking for work, there are thousands and thousands of jobs available here in Wisconsin.
Bay Area Job Service district director Brian Pelon said there are currently about 70,000 job openings and 140,000 resumes posted at JobCenterOfWisconsin.com.
“Well, we know that there are a lot of situations that are requiring folks to do some searching for work," Pelon said. “If folks need help, the Job Center of Wisconsin website is a great place to start to find that new position.”
To get started, people need to make an account. Then, they can use the site to search for jobs by location or industry or skills.
“Some people that work in industry A might not think they can work in industry B based on their current job titles," Pelon said. "However, what we’re finding out a lot of employers value are those transferable skills.”
Pelon said with many job centers around the state still closed, the online tool can be a valuable asset for it's easy access and convenience.
