FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Police say a man armed with a knife who barricaded himself in a Fond du Lac home with three children has been arrested.
Capt. Jason Lariden says officers were called to the home about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday because the 28-year-old man was "acting unusual" according to others in the house. A news release from Fond du Lac Police says the man was running around naked in the street. Police say officers who arrived on scene saw the man had a knife.
Officers tried to negotiate with the man for hours. Police say one of the children inside was able to escape the home. At around 9:10 a.m., police say negotiations broke down, so SWAT used an explosive breach to enter the home where they were able to rescue the two remaining children.
Capt. Lariden says the man was arrested and no one was injured.
