WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — UPDATE: A pedestrian is dead after a crash involving a semi-tractor-trailer on I-41.
It happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning in the southbound lanes of I-41 south of STH 44. According to police, the pedestrian, a 24-year-old Oshkosh man, was in the travel lanes of the highway when the crash happened, and that pedestrian was killed.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 55-year-old man, attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but was unable to. Police don't believe alcohol or drugs were a factor.
UPDATE: The incident has been cleared.
All lanes were blocked on I-41 Southbound after a serious crash early in the morning on June 9th.
According to Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the incident happened around mile marker 114, around 2:45 a.m.
Southbound traffic should exit I-41 at WIS 44 and take the Frontage Road down to WIS 26 back to I-41 southbound.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
The incident was cleared around 8:30 a.m.
