OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — Oshkosh YMCA has introduced Pickleball courts alongside tennis courts at their newly updated Tennis and Pickleball Center.
Due to the rapidly growing sport of Pickleball, the Oshkosh Y Tennis Center is changing its name to the Oshkosh Y Tennis & Pickleball Center.
Along with the new name, the center resurfaced the tennis courts.
To celebrate the addition, the Oshkosh YMCA will host a community open house throughout the week of August 22.
“We are excited to welcome back all players, both tennis and Pickleball, to enjoy the newly resurfaced courts and invite community members to come see what we have to offer,” said Sheila Counts, Tennis and Pickleball Director.
The open house will offer activities for youth, adults and families to participate in such as Family Tennis Cardio, Pickleball 101, Tennis 101 and open Pickleball games. The week will conclude with a free Kids Carnival.
The carnival will be held on Thursday, August 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
