Former Packers safety LeRoy Butler is getting married in the Lambeau Field Atrium. The wedding date is May 11, 2019 and you can be there.
Butler is selling tickets to his wedding on this website. A large portion of the proceeds from the sponsorships and ticket sales will go to Friends of Autism, The Salvation Army and the Hunger Task Force.
Butler spoke to NBC26 about trying to sell his fiancee, Genesis, on the idea.
"I said, 'What if we for some reason, I want the fans to come?' You should've seen her face. She was like, 'What do you mean?' And I was like, 'We should give fans a chance to come and we donate the money to charity.'"
Butler grew up poor and has a 7-year-old son who is living with autism, so his choice of charities to receive the funds was easy.
Friends of Autism Executive Director Jim Jones of Neenah said Butler's generous donation will help support the organization's efforts to provide autism education and services.
"We fund therapy. We fund social skills classes. Parents who need help with medications or medical treatment that's not covered by insurance, that's what our family grant program does," explained Jones.
