Two killed, one hurt in crash near Bonduel

UPDATE: John Lindert, 84, of Brookfield and John Fischer, 57, of Shawano died in the crash, while Donna Lindert, 81, of Brookfield received life-threatening injuries. Warren Carlson, 61, of Prentice was not injured.

UPDATE: Two people were killed and one person was hurt during a crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 47 at Highway 156 in Shawano County. 

A 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Highway 47 when it started passing a northbound 1991 Mack semi unit.

The Toyota entered a no-passing zone and struck a southbound 2014 Ford Focus head on. The collision between the two automobiles forced the northbound Toyota into the northbound semi unit it had been passing.

The 84-year-old Brookfield man driving the Toyota, and 57-year-old Shawano man driving the Ford, died at the scene.

An 81-year-old Brookfield woman passenger of the Toyota was flown from the scene by Eagle III Flight for Life, to Saint Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, with life threatening injuries.

The 61-year-old Prentice man driving the semi was not injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating and reconstructing this crash. Names are not being released at this time pending notification of family. 

Assisting agencies included Shawano County Sheriff, Shawano County Highway Department, Navarino Fire and EMS, Pulaski Tri-County Fire Department, Nichols Fire Department, and Eagle III Helicopter.

BONDUEL -- All lanes of Highway 47 are closed in both directions at Highway 156 because of a crash near Bonduel.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Department estimates the road will be closed for more than two hours.
