A ten part series, 'Making a Murderer' on Netflix details the story of Steven Avery. It begins with his exoneration for rape and covers the conviction in the Teresa Halbach murder case and it's creating a social media firestorm.

Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were convicted of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach and are serving life sentences.

Supporters of the convicted murderers are trying to shine new light on the case after the documentary's release.

The 'Making a Murderer' documentary alleges misconduct by the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department. The prosecutor says the Netflix documentary about the case is "slanted."

Ken Kratz says the filmmakers of "Making a Murderer" never gave him a chance to answer some of the allegations made by the defense team. He added the film ignored up to 90 percent of the physical evidence that linked Avery to the killing of photographer Teresa Halbach.

The producers of the series said they did reach out to Kratz for comment.
