MADISON — The investigation into a mass shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison led police to a home in a neighborhood on the city's north side.

The shooting left three people dead, including the suspected shooter, and six injured.

Police identified the suspected shooter as 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, a student at the school, and said she went by the name Samantha. They believe she acted alone.

Police searched her family's home late into Monday night. They said the father of the suspected shooter allowed them entry with consent.

A neighbor, who spoke with our sister station TMJ4 off camera, said they heard flash bangs and saw police with long guns between 1 and 1:30 p.m. near the home, about 8 miles from the school.

“This is typically a quiet neighborhood. They have the neighborhood chat line,” another neighbor told TMJ4. “When somebody hears something, they usually post on the neighborhood chat line, so everybody starts chiming in about what they heard.”
