UPDATE #4: The shooter who opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison on Monday morning was a 17-year-old female student, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.

UPDATE #3: A teacher and a teenage student were killed in a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison on Monday morning, according to Chief of Police Shon Barnes.
Police were called to the school for reports of an active shooter just before 11 a.m.
The shooter, a teenage student at the school, is also dead, according to the police chief. Police say the shooter was found dead when they arrived at the school. Officers did not fire their weapons. Police also recovered a handgun.
Police are not releasing the shooter's age or gender at this time.
Police still do not know the shooter's motive, but are continuing their investigation.
Six others — all students — were hurt in the shooting. Two of them have life-threatening injuries, while the other four are recovering at local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to the police chief.
Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says there is no further danger to the community.

UPDATE #2: Police are now saying three people are dead — including the suspect — and six others are hurt after a school shooting in Madison.
"During the media briefing earlier this afternoon, it was erroneously shared 5 were deceased," Madison Police wrote in a Facebook post.
Police say the shooter was a student at Abundant Life Christian School, and that officers did not fire their weapons.
Authorities will be holding an updated news conference at 2:30 p.m.

ORIGINAL REPORTING: The Dane County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) and Madison Police Department (MPD) are handling reports of a school shooter at Abundant Life Christian School, according to NBC affiliate WMTV.
CNN reports that a suspect is "down," and that there are multiple casualties, including children and staff.
According to the school's website, Abundant Life serves about 200 families and students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Law enforcement says the call came in around 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

The post indicates that the scene is active and an investigation is underway. Multiple injuries have been reported. Police are asking people to avoid the area of East Buckeye Road.
MPD says that the SSM Health/Dean Clinic on Stoughton Road will be used as a reunification area for families, according to WMTV.
