UPDATE #6: The motive for Monday's deadly shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison was "a combination of factors," Madison Chief of Police Shon Barnes said in a news conference Tuesday.
Chief Barnes did not give specifics on the suspected shooter's motive because police do not want to jeopardize the investigation.
Police are also working to verify the authenticity of a manifesto circulating online.
Chief Barnes shared that the statuses for the victims remain unchanged. Six people were hurt in Monday's shooting. Two students have life-threatening injuries. Four other people — three students and a teacher — are recovering with non life-threatening injuries. Two of them were released from local hospitals Monday night.
The suspect, 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, shot and killed a teacher and a teenage student with a handgun. The suspected shooter was found dead when officers first arrived to the school.
Rupnow attended the school, which is a K-12 school.
Chief Barnes issued a correction, saying the initial 911 call came from a second-grade teacher, not a second-grade student as previously reported. He apologized for the error.
