In Green Bay the Sexual Assault Center of Family Services is looking for volunteer advocates. Volunteers undergo a background check and receive extensive training before working to help victims of sexual assault.
"Having that support for that victim right from the very beginning, all through the process of their healing and their journey, is super important, to making sure they receive the appropriate services and are able to heal from their trauma, " said Christiana Vanseth, program supervisor for the Sexual Assault Center of Family Services.
Last year advocates helped more than 1,000 victims.
