Suspicious package found was no threat to public

UPDATE - Fond Du Lac Police, along with the Brown/Outagamie Bomb Squad, have determined that the suspicious package found was not dangerous and does not pose a threat.

Officers say the surrounding area of Bread of Life Church is now being reopened.

According to Church personnel, the package was found around 2:45 p.m. and did not have any postal markings on it and they not expecting any packages to be delivered.

Officers who arrived on the scene were able to see that the package was a United States Postal Service flat rate shipping box that had the word fragile written on the box, but no other postal markings.

Police say the package contained a book and some papers. They say the investigation into who left the items and why is ongoing.

According to Fond du Lac Police, they are investigating a suspicious package.

They say the package was found on the steps of the Bread of Life Church.  

Military Road is blocked off between Western Ave. and W. 2nd St. Police are asking the public to avoid this area.
