Arrest made in robbery at Appleton dry cleaner

On April 1, the Appleton Police Department was called to an armed robbery occurring at Gunderson Cleaners, 200 W. Wisconsin Ave. Due to the observations of an alert citizen the robbery suspect was located and arrested.

Investigators received information on a suspect vehicle from a citizen who had been in the area of the robbery. While looking for the vehicle, investigators learned it had been stopped in Calumet County on April 2. The individual driving the vehicle, later arrested by the Appleton Police Department, had been taken into custody on drug possession charges, during the traffic stop. Upon his release from the Calumet County Jail, the subject was taken into custody by the Appleton Police Department. He was questioned by investigators and has admitted his involvement in the incident.

A 35-year-old Neenah man is confined at the Outagamie County Jail and a charge of armed robbery has been requested. NBC26 will report the name of the 35-year-old Neenah man after charges are filed.

Investigators from the Appleton Police Department are working on a late morning business robbery. At about 11:53 a.m. on April 1, officers responded to a report of an armed suspect having robbed Gunderson Cleaners, 200 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The suspect is described as a white man of an undetermined age. He displayed a handgun during the incident. The suspect was about 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build. He did not conceal his identity during the robbery.

No one was injured during the robbery. The subject was last seen walking northbound from the business. A track conducted by an Appleton K9 unit did not lead to discovery of the individual.
