The Appleton Police have arrested an Appleton man for his third OWI.
Authorities say the 26-year-old man fled on foot from a traffic stop late Thursday.
Appleton Police responded to a disabled vehicle on the corner of East Marquette Street and North Union Street. When Police arrived on scene, they said two people quickly got into a truck and sped away.
Officers pursued the vehicle a short distance before the driver stopped and took off through a yard.
Officials found the driver laying on a garage roof in the 400-block of E. Lindbergh Street. Police gave several verbal commands to the suspect, before he got up and climbed to the peak of the roof. Police say that's when the suspect fell off the roof to the ground and he was taken into custody.
Officers conducted a field sobriety test on the driver at the hospital, after finding a bag of marijuana.
The passenger in the vehicle, a 30-year-old Menasha man was issued city summons after finding marijuana. He was released after interviews with Police.
NBC26 is not naming the men involved until they have been formally charged.
