A teen has been arrested for allegedly threatening to fire a gun at a Peshtigo school. Police Chief Joseph Fitzgerald said the boy posted the shooting threat on Facebook and also sent it through text messages. A parent, whose child received one of the text messages, reported it to police.
The suspect was arrested Sunday night and told officers it was meant as a joke, according to Fitzgerald.
The police chief said a specific school was not mentioned in the threat.
Fitzgerald is now recommending charges to the Marinette County Sheriff's Office.
