Posted

"I never thought I'd ever get a chance like this"  said Ricardo Lugo a junior at Preble High School.

Students from Mike schuh's dramatic literature class, will get an opportunity to meet the cast and crew of Hamilton Chicago on February 7th.

Not only will they be able to watch Hamilton, they'll be able to perform their spoken word poetry to the cast of the musical.

"I'm just so thankful for the opportunity i'm just hoping people see my work.. and it gets all around" said Lugo.

Hamilton is an award winning musical, on the life of American founding father, Alexander Hamilton through songs, and rap.

Students worked on what they'd present to the cast, for weeks perfecting each line, each word to make sure the poem worked.

"I tried real hard, I tried to make it reasonable, accurate, and explain what Alexander Hamilton did," said Pakue Lee, a junior at Preble.

"There will also be a meet and greet with the cast, where there will be a q and a session, the kids will be able to ask specific questions to the Chicago cast of Hamilton" said teacher Mike Schuh.

They're hoping to meet, and ask all of their questions in front of their heroes.
