DE PERE, Wis. — Students describe rehearsing for a play called "Be More Chill" at West De Pere High school as rewarding.
"It's kind of messy, sloppy when you're saying lines you don't know the inflections you need to use," said graduating senior Hannah Bearson, "you can say some words very excited or very nervous, and you just have to figure out the tone of the scene."
She said, it's all worth it at the end, "this is my last chance really kind of to enjoy and be around this group of people and its always been such a family." Hannah plays one of the female leads in the play along with her friends like Austin Gillis. Austin, said he enjoys being in plays to convey an emotion to people, happy or sad, it's an art form. "especially live theater is an incredible experience because of that."
Director Maggie Gertz, said she sees her students blossom throughout the years, "if you're in theater you don't do it for the money you do it to see the kids grow up."
