She has served Outagamie County as the District Attorney for more than a decade, but now Carrie Schneider will take on a new role in court.

Governor Walker appointed Schneider to serve as a judge on the Outagamie County Circuit Court Monday. She will replace retiring Judge Michael Gage.

“I am pleased to appoint Carrie Schneider as a judge in Outagamie County,” said Governor Walker. “Her commitment to enforcing the law has been evident through her years of service as Outagamie County District Attorney and demonstrates that she will be an excellent judge.”

Schneider was born and raised in Outagamie County. She has dedicated much of her career to protecting child victims and victims of domestic abuse.

She created the first domestic violence prosecution unit in Outagamie County.

“Ms. Schneider is intelligent, articulate, decisive, highly organized, reasonable in her judgments, and principled,” said Judge Michael Gage, whom Schneider will be replacing. "Carrie Schneider is highly qualified and well suited by temperament to be a Circuit Court Judge. I recommend her without reservation for appointment to succeed me in this office.”

Schneider attended the University of Wisconsin Law School and received her undergraduate degree from Marquette. She lives in New London with her husband and children.
