Michelle Carter has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the suicide of her boyfriend, Conrad Roy III. She must serve at least 15 months of that sentence before being considered for release.
Carter was facing a maximum of 20 years. Prosecutors requested that she be sentenced to between 7 and 12 years in prison, while the defense petitioned the judge for only a sentence of probation.
Conrad Roy, her boyfriend at the time poisoned himself by inhaling carbon monoxide in his pickup truck in 2014.
Ignorance of people defending #michellecarter is ridiculous. If you read the texts, understand the law, and followed the trial she's guilty.

The texts that led to teen's suicide:
Roy: "I'm overthinking"
Carter: "I thought you wanted to do this. The time is right and you're ready, you just need to do it! You can't keep living this way. You just need to do it like you did last time and not think about it and just do it babe. You can't keep doing this every day."
very unfair to put all the blame on a 17 year old girl where were Conrads parents in all of this? Probation and counseling. #michellecarter
