Door County Officials say a man is dead following a crash in the Township of Gardner.
The Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department and the Door County Sheriff's Office were called to Lime Kiln Road around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for reports of low handing wires. A caller reported shortly after a single-vehicle crash at the site.
Authorities say the vehicle was traveling westbound on Lime Kiln Road when the vehicle crashed into the ditch striking a utility pole in a brushy area.
The man was taken by ambulance to a helicopter zone in Little Sturgeon and was airlifted to a Green Bay hospital. He died several hours later.
The investigation is ongoing, but according to officials, speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
The name of the driver is not being released pending notification of the family.
