Update:
The C.A. Lawton Co. confirms there was a fatality resulting from an accident at the foundry on Friday. They said a 24-year-old worker died due to his injuries.
The cause of death is being determined by the ongoing OSHA investigation.
The company offered this statement:
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family," stated Andrew Mastalir, Sales & Marketing Manager. "Our entire team is struggling with this extremely difficult and emotional situation. As far as I can determine, there has never been a work-related fatality at The C.A. Lawton Co. in its 143-year history. We are taking time for open discussions with all team members across the organization, and counseling services are being offered to anyone who needs them."

A worker died Friday morning in an incident at C.A. Lawton Co. in De Pere, according to Rob Bonack, area director of the OSHA Appleton area office.
C.A. Lawton Co. is an iron casting foundry, according to the company's website.
"We are conducting an investigation related to an occupational fatality," Bonack said. "I can't provide any more detail at this time as we have an active investigation."
The investigation will likely take six months to complete, Bonack said.
