APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- A business out of Appleton is inspiring professional women to achieve their greatest potential.

New Sage Strategies created the Women's Leadership Academy.

After a year of navigating a global pandemic, the lessons are invaluable.

Vicki Tandeski is the Chief Information Officer at Ariens Company in Brillion, and has worked there for more than six years.

She enrolled in the Women's Leadership Academy as a way to continue her personal development.

"My biggest takeaway from the course was really the importance of understanding yourself and your personal and professional brand," said Tandeski. "Knowing and understanding the brand of you helps build confidence in yourself and helps you find the right voice to use when dealing with others."

The course was designed to help women:

  • understand themselves as a leader
  • build confidence and communication skills
  • improve strategic thinking
  • enhance executive presence
  • get your voice heard

"What I found through the past year is there are so many challenges that got in our way through this pandemic," said Vicki Updike, the founder of New Sage Strategies. "Those consistencies kept coming up through the women that I coach so I created the Women's Leadership Academy."

The Women's Leadership Academy is an online course for women to go through at their own pace.

"On one hand I could use it to help myself as I go through the organization and maneuver through," said Tandeski. "On the other hand, I can help women leaders throughout the organization."

There are five chapters to complete. It's geared towards women at any stage in their career.

"Everyone can really benefit from going through the modules," said Tandeski.

"Sometimes we feel stuck. Sometimes we don't know if we are moving forward or if we are stepping back or how to make progress," said Updike.

The classes will help you create smart goals for yourself that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely.

Women can sign up at any time and New Sage Strategies is looking to implement group discussions in the online course so women don't feel like they are alone.

The course is $449 to enroll. Click here for more information.
