WAUPACA, Wis. (NBC 26) — One person was airlifted to the hospital after being pulled from their burning vehicle in Waupaca County.
According to the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department, just before 4:00 p.m. a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck collided on State Highway 22 and County Highway K in the Township of Farmington.
According to a press release, the passenger vehicle was struck by the semi-truck on State Highway 22 and the passenger vehicle started on fire.
Nearby witnesses to the crash pulled the injured driver from the vehicle before it was fully engulfed by the flames.
The driver was eventually airlifted by Theda Star to a nearby hospital. Their condition has not been released.
The crash is still under investigation.
