GREEN BAY, Wis. — Two people from the Red Cross of northeast Wisconsin are flying to Fort Smith, Arkansas to help tornado and flooding victims.

They left from the Austin Straubel Airport Thursday afternoon. Jane Nesbitt is one of those volunteers. She says this is her sixth deployment and she's a nurse, so she says she'll be working in the health services portion of the disaster.

"The most rewarding is when someone just comes back to you and says thank you even though they may have lost everything that they have,” says Nesbitt. “Yet you maybe given them a small bit of hope or help back."

She says people may have lost medical equipment or medication, so her focus is helping them. Get those back. They also may check to see if anyone in different areas needs medical help.
