GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The winner of a historic Powerball jackpot bought their ticket in Green Bay. The ticket is worth an estimated $316.3 million ($225.1 Million cash).
Wisconsin Lottery officials say the winning Powerball ticket was sold in Jackson Pointe Citgo on Packerland Drive.
"My heart is racing. I have goosebumps all over," Jackson Pointe Citgo General Manager Mary Willems said. "It's just really great for our store, for our community here. We have a lot of regulars who play the game all the time and I'm hoping that whoever won this ticket is a regular and that we can share in their joy. I thank the Lottery for doing so much for us and just being there all the time."
The Wisconsin winner is splitting the $632.6 million jackpot with a person from California. The California Lottery says the winning ticket in its state was sold at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Sacramento.
The winners have a cash option of splitting $450 million.
The jackpot is one of the largest in the history of the Powerball game but didn't rank among the Top 10 largest in U.S. lottery history.
The winning numbers for the Powerball jackpot drawn Wednesday night were 6, 14, 25, 33, and 46.
The Powerball was 17.
According to the Associated Press, 14 other tickets sold were winners of several million dollars.
