UPPER MICHIGAN, Mich. (NBC 26) -- An F-16 fighter aircraft has crashed in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, according to the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
Captain Leslie Westmont with the 115th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office confirms with NBC 26 the aircraft crashed around 8:00 Tuesday night.
One pilot with the 115th Air National Guard out of Madison was performing a routine training mission when it crashed in the Upper Peninsula.
Emergency responders are on the scene. The cause of the crash as well is unknown at this time.
