BROWN CO., Wis. (NBC 26) -- More wet weather in the forecast is something that isn't just affecting local homeowners. It's also affecting builders trying to construct new homes.
At Gryboski Builders, they've been dealing with the rainy and wet weather we've had this year. Bob Gryboski, the vice president, said they get through it, but it is challenging.
He explained that a lot of construction is directly correlated to the weather.
"If the house doesn't get, the foundation doesn't get poured and the framing is three or four weeks behind, you can't start on anything inside until it's done, obviously, so it does affect scheduling and overall schedule for the project," said Gryboski.
He also said it makes it difficult for subcontractors and other people working outside to stay productive, but he says it can get done, regardless of the elements.
Servpro of West Brown County is another business keeping busy right now. The owner, Mike Bogenschuetz said it's been an interesting year and seems like one big weather event after the next. He also told us mold has been a bigger problem that usual for this time of the year.
"It doesn't dry easily unless you have something like, we have large dehumidifiers and fans and those types of things to get moisture out of the building materials, and if you don't do that, it's setting it up for mold in the future," said Bogenschuetz.
He said when they go to clean up the mold, they wear protective gear, as mold can come with health risks.
