GREEN BAY, Wis, (NBC 26) -- Nectar, in downtown Green Bay is not your typical fast food restaurant.

"We were the first in Green Bay to be a 100% organic, vegan and gluten free. A lot of people definitely, looked twice at that. We got a lot of weird looks, a lot of people thought we were crazy in 2016," owner Brent Prechtl said.

The juice bar has been bringing in customers ever since, but COVID-19 has slowed down the revenue.

"Obviously volume is the first thing, we've also seen an influx in takeout and delivery orders, I've had to adjust my marketing strategy as well as my ability to order through my store to make it convenient for people."

Nectar offers a wide range of organic and whole food menu options.

"What they have here is the best thing you can put into your body, especially these days. You body needs everything to get your immune system stronger," Jose Garcia said.

Even with business slower than usual, Nectar's owner is just happy to give the area a healthy option.

"The main thing that is open are the hamburgers shops, the fast food joints. To be able to sit here and promote my juices to promote healthiness and to have people respond who wouldn't typically respond, brings me great pleasure."

Nectar is offering free smoothies for any child with the purchase of an adult smoothie.
