HORTONVILLE, Wis (NBC 26) -- We continually hear about small businesses that are struggling to recover from months of being closed.... but there are some.... that are thriving right now.
One business in Outagamie county's Hortonville, Charlies's Place, a drive-in restaurant, is currently experiencing one of the best springs in memory. The restaurant's owners say they have been in the business of curbside side delivery since the 1960's and their customers are coming out in droves of support right now.
"It's a way to get out. People are cooped up. Even if it's just to come down here, even if it's just sitting in your car listening to music, watching the carhops bop around," says Rachel Mann-Rosenfeldt the co-owner of Charlie's Drive In.
"When they said that we could be open in a certain fashion, it's been busier than ever because we are, we're made for curb service. We didn't realize that until we were just slammed again and again and again," adds Carl Mann the other co-owner of the business.
The owners of Charlie's Place say the community's support has been amazing and the amount of business they're experiencing right now has them making additional hires as well.
