GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — As children get ready to head back to the classroom, We All Rise is hosting a back-to-school BBQ and supply drive.
On Sunday, August 29 from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. families were invited to come out to Perkins Park to pick up a free backpack, school supplies and some delicious food.
Supplies will be dispersed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For those who are able to help support the organization and help more students with supplies, We All Rise is asking you to sponsor a student by donating $40 or drop off a pre-filled backpack at We All Rise AARC - 430 S Webster Ave.

“The pandemic, a lot of parents have lost income, we know that parents need a leg up in getting kids back and ready for school with all that is going on. And we were actually letting people get what they need themselves. We didn’t assume what folks needed. We let them come out and pack their own bags and get what they needed for their families,“ said Dena Williams, We All Rise Lead Advocate.
